Define: The app aims to create a vintage atmosphere reminiscent of the 60s to 80s, specifically designed to cater to our main audience - elderly people. Taking into consideration their preferences, which often include enjoying movies, music, art, and playing simple games, we strive to provide an enjoyable and relaxing experience that promotes healing and relaxation for the mind
Develop: We observed that elderly users were losing their sense of immersion due to a complex menu system. To address this, we introduced the Swedish game 'Kubb' as the first scene, allowing users to intuitively experience the game without the need for specific instructions. This initial scene provides a relaxing ambiance with jazz music and the soothing sounds of water waves.
As you explore further, you'll also find a small house serving as our main lobby, where users can access various experiences. In this case, the user chose to watch a movie in our immersive Theatre.
The Theatre is designed with numerous particles, along with emissive lighting from the lamp and the projector beam, enhancing the overall atmosphere. To replicate the theatre experience, we've also incorporated reverb effects to the movie's sound, providing an authentic audio environment.
We chose to build a 6 DoF system to make the experience more immersive for users.
And also We added a 'grab and throw' feature for playing Kubb, and a teleportation feature for users who experience motion sickness."
