I gathered insights from 3D character artist at Capcom who recommended a valuable approach to building a portfolio and enhancing learning. This involves seeking out artwork that has been used as game data on platforms like ArtStation, created by professional artists.
Furthermore, he suggested it's good to choose artwork that has various types of materials on one object as a portfolio piece, such as metal, leather, fabric, and plastic... Following this recommendation, I carefully selected an asset created by artist Karolina Holly from Techland, and I replicated it. This particular helmet was designed for the game "Dying Light 2: Stay Human" and was part of the enemy's outfit.
